When you're planning a magical vacation, Disney World coupons can come in very handy. Disney World vacations are a great value, but that doesn't make these trips any less expensive, and a Disney World coupon can really save you money.
There's so much to see and do while in Florida, and the Walt Disney World Resort has so many activities that even a month long vacation can be too short. Want to go mini-golfing? How about para-sailing? Play tennis or volleyball? Drive a speed boat, or play on an official PGA golf course? Yup, you can do all of that, and then finish off your day/week/month with a Ghirardeli milk shake and an evening watching Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba, or take in fireworks at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, or Pleasure Island, or even ride a virtual roller coaster.
At Disney World, you can be a Nascar race driver in The Richard Petty Experience, or take surfing classes at Typhoon Lagoon. Shop till you drop at Downtown Disney and have dinner at Wolfgang Puck's. And all this is without even entering one of the 4 theme parks.
While Disney World has some of the best hotels that can reach top dollar, most vacationing families find that even their value resorts are more fun and have more amenities than the average affordable hotel. The moderate resorts offer even more and are beautifully landscaped making them a happy compromise for families on a budget who also want to feel that they're on a true getaway.
The best dining is available at Disney World as well. But fine dining at the House of Mouse doesn't have to be a stuffy, formal affair. They know that you're there to have fun, so even the nicest restaurants on Disney World property don't mind if you show up in your shorts and t-shirt, except at Victoria & Albert's which does have a dress code.
Not only do you not have to be concerned about your attire while vacationing, you won't even need Disney World discount coupons for Disney's restaurants if you use their Disney Dining Plans. The DDP can actually save you up to 30% on your meals while at Walt Disney World. Portions are generous as well, so some meals can be shared for an even greater savings.
Parking is free for resort guests, and as parking at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom is about $10 a day, that's a great savings if you choose to stay in one of the Disney owned hotels. They also offer free transportation from the hotel to the parks and back again, which is almost like having a Disney World coupon, as well as the helping the environment.
Sometimes you can find special deals through Walt Disney World's official website. The best time to check for these deals is 2-3 months before your planned vacation, during the summer (which is when they run their fall specials), and any time the economic situation is a bit unstable. This past year has seen some of the best deals The World has ever offered, and with hurricane season looming, there many deals to choose from.
In addition to special offers, booking your vacation through AAA or a travel agency that specializes in Disney travel can save you a few dollars. Plus, it'll pay to do your homework before hand. There are many types of packages available, and you'll want to choose the best one for your situation. Do you like to do a lot of non-theme park activities? Water parks, the Richard Petty Experience, DisneyQuest? You'll want to add the Water Parks and More option to your ticket. Prefer to only hit a few of your favorite rides in each park and then move on to another park? Or spend a day in Animal Kingdom but finish off the night with fireworks at Magic Kingdom or EPCOT? You'll want to add the Park Hopper option.
Adding options to your tickets will raise the cost of tickets, but if you enjoy hitting multiple attractions in one day, it can save you money on separate admissions.
If you're planning on staying at The World for 10 or more days, you may find that it's worth the extra cost of an annual pass instead of the relatively low priced cost of the 10 day base pass. Why? Because annual passholders are able to get discounts at some restaurants and shops that are not available to the average visitor.
Check with your employer to find out if you have special offers through the company you work for. Since Walt Disney World is the top vacation spot in the US, even companies based in other states may have special deals worked out with Disney. And if not, many large companies that sponsor rides and attractions at The World have special ticket prices, and even special lounges with private entrances to the rides/attractions they sponsor. The most popularly known company lounge is the Fed Ex lounge inside Space Mountain. The lounge is for Fed Ex employees and their guests only, and, from what I've heard, offers air conditioning, refreshments, and a private entrance that bypasses most of the line for the ride. This isn't exactly a discount, but at the price of water and soda at the parks? It could save you a considerable amount of money on a hot day.
The best place to find Disney World coupons is in the back of
Birnbaum's Walt Disney World 2009, and you can find many
reviews here.
They have coupons ranging from mini-golf, to swimming with the
dolphins, and stays at some of the Disney resorts. You may also be
able to find coupons for some of the non-Disney owned restaurants and
hotels that are on Disney World property.
As you can see, you can save quite a bit of money with Disney World coupons while on vacation.
